Engaging in Culture

Bali Subak Traditional Farming Experience: there will be a visit to a traditional village, Singapadu, where you can experience the traditional Balinese way of life. The original Balinese “Lowland Compound” consist of at least 4 complexes of structures, those are: North Pavilion, West open Pavilion, Kitchen South, East open Pavilion and the North-East is the family temple. Besides these 4 complexes, behind the kitchen there are some hidden structures known as: rice-granary and pig-fence. This whole structure – layout is based on a Balinese traditional building guide, in which are mentioned the beneficial aspects of this architectural pattern, experience the farming activities in the wet rice fields, “carik”, using traditional tools. You will be involved in the rice cultivating and planting and afterwards we will walk along the rice fields to the village, “desa”, to enrich your Bali lifestyle experience with a traditional Balinese cooking activity.

Offering for the God’s and the Demons: get closer to the Balinese religious way of life and learn how they prepare their daily offerings, one of the common daily offerings called saiban or jotan. These offerings are dedicated before human can eat. The offerings to the demons are laid on the ground, while those dedicated to the Gods are put on elevated places.

There will be afternoon half-day tour to Alas Kedaton - the sacred monkey forest, where hundreds of them would comfortably encounter with people. Our next visit is the charming Taman Ayun Royal Temple of Mengwi; it was one of the most important temples of the ancient Mengwi Kingdom and yet remains preserved for decades. Tanah lot will be the last stop, arriving in time to admire the sunset behind this temple that is perched on a rocky promontory, one of the most photographed temples on the island for good reason.
MYSTICAL ULUWATU AND JIMBARAN BAY SEAFOOD DINNER (ca. 5 hours)
Pick up from your hotel in the late afternoon. Along a winding road you will drive to one of the most holy temples of Bali "Uluwatu Temple " located on the most southern tip of the peninsula, on a cliff 100 meters above the ocean. During the sunset, attend the mystic and well known "Kecak Dance" (Subject to performance scheduled and weather) after this beautiful but mysterious spectacle, drive to the romantic "Jimbaran bay" to enjoy a delicious fish dinner in a romantic atmosphere right on the beachside. After dinner, transfer back to your hotel.
THE ART CONTOUR OF BALI (ca. 8 hours)
We begin the tour with a visit to Batubulan village to watch the Barong and Keris Dance performance; it symbolizes the everlasting struggle between good and evil. After this beautiful spectacle, onward to Celuk, famous for its gold and silver works, visit MAS Village to see the making process of Bali typical woodcarving, then on to Goa Gajah Temple, which was built in the 11th century, and to the holy-spring temple in Tampaksiring. After some photo shots, we will continue our drive to the village of Penelokan to enjoy the breathtaking view of Mt.Batur and the lake below. After lunch, continue driving through Bali’s beautiful countryside, and then return to your hotel
SOUVENIR HUNTING & UBUD TOUR (ca. 6 hours)
This tour begins with a morning walk around the artists’ village of Ubud. You may explore the different art galleries, the traditional market and may be the small temple and monkey sanctuary. We will stop over at Tegalalang, at Sebatu Water Temple and then at the Elephant Cave at Goa Gajah. Afterwards, we visit the Silver & Goldgalleries at Celuk

AGRO PELAGA – NATURAL TREKKING (ca. 8 hours)
Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel and then onward to Pelaga Village. During this drive you will pass different villages and you will see the daily Balinese morning life. Along the trip you will pass-by some village rice-fields, and see many kinds of different fruit plantations, which are growing only in this area. The base for our today’s Trekking-trip is Bagus Agro Pelaga, a tourist attraction where visitors may enjoy outstanding views of fruit, flower and vegetable farming and plantation using modern agricultural technique while having recreation. Situated on 750 meter above sea level, it offers fresh mountain air and magnificent agricultural panorama. Our lunch will be served at the Terrace Restaurant with its charming view over the valley. |
